  • Once you know the typical signs of stress – faster heart rate and faster breathing – think of this as confirmation that your body is working properly, and get ready to tackle the challenges.
  • Try to appreciate the effect of stress: that it makes you tougher, more alert and able to contribute more.
  • If you have the time and opportunity, use the boost of extra energy for a quick workout. Squats and plank can, for example, be done anywhere, even in the office.

Stress to Strength

The state of the mind and that of the body are intimately related. If the mind is relaxed, the muscles in the body will also be relaxed. Stress produces a state of physical and mental tension. Inspite of many stress management techniques the ancient yoga have remained consistent and recognized as a form of mind-body medicine. In yoga, physical postures and breathing exercises improve muscle strength, flexibility, blood circulation.

Many studies have found that yoga practitioners become more resilient to stressful conditions and reduce a variety of important risk factors for various diseases, especially cardio-respiratory diseases. Some common problems that arise out of stress are;
